PrevMED was founded in 2005 by a man whose mother was living in a nursing home suffering from the consequences of inadequate oral hygiene care. Her mouth was dry, her weight was dropping and gum disease was causing complications leading to her frequent bouts with pneumonia. Mom deserved to be comfortable at this stage in her life.

PrevMED is dedicated to helping long-term care facility professionals care for their residents. The company was founded to address the unmet oral hygiene needs of people living in skilled nursing facilities. PrevMED has become the industry leader in insured oral hygiene care through its multi-step, on-site Oral Health Maintenance (OHM)® Program. Poor oral hygiene leads to disease in nursing home populations.
