PrevMED began in 2005 as the dream of a son who wanted to provide better care for his aging mother. Mom lived in a nursing home and was losing weight because of painful chewing caused by gum disease. Transporting her to a dentist was painful and impractical because Mom was confined to a wheelchair. Mom deserved to enjoy the little things in life and proper oral care was an important part of providing for her comfort.

Today, PrevMED is a national leader in providing on-site oral hygiene and dental care for people living in nursing homes. Our individually prescribed monthly Oral Health Maintenance (OHM)® Program offers a preventative rather than surgical approach to oral health. Our goal is to save on downstream health costs and help maintain a better quality of life for nursing home residents. Our specially trained clinicians deliver consistent, compassionate care to every patient, every month.
